I’ve been in a cast for over 5 weeks … with a ruptured achilles tendon.  It has been a real challenge to stay “sane” while sitting with my foot up in the air.

Here is a picture of me in happier times, in my Geisler, fishing … great thoughts … I can’t do any type of sports for at least a year, so fishing is my friend for 2009.  I just love these wood boats … too much maintenance, but beautiful for fishing …

Sanger Family – 2008 – boys and dad – fishing georgian bay style

Maggie and David just love the Sanger clan.  Nothing better than the sound of laughing boys – also, love the life jackets.

This is a good shot of the inside of the new Lund.  The split seat configuration is nice, and they are wider than the Geisler boats.  We’ve ordered flat floors for 2009 – so that the are easier for walking or standing.

I love the 4 stroke engines, but still prefer the wood boats.

Great Bass – Georgian Bay – Ontario

The bass season does not begin until the 4th Saturday of June.  But, we can start dreaming … this is a nice healthy small mouth from the summer of 2008.  Also, notice the inside of the wood boat … I will try and show shots in both the Aluminum and Wood boats and we are open for opinions on Wood Vs. Aluminum fishing boats?

Wood or Aluminum fishing boats?

Wood Boat parked for Lunch - Georgian Bay Fishing

We are curious about your feedback.  At our Lodge, we have both Aluminum and Wood boats.  The Aluminum boats are from Lund, nice wide 16 footers, with floors.  The wood boats are from Geisler and they are 18 feet.  Interestingly, the Lund 16 foot boats are wider than the 18 foot Geisler.

Last year, our customers drove both … turns out they both go the same speed … so that is not the issue.  But, what do you think? Do you like the charm and warmth of the wood boat or the clean feeling Aluminum?

There is no right or wrong … just what you like?

No prizes for winning …

O.K., let’s start the debate.  Lund, Alumacraft, Cresliner, Princecraft or Legend?  Which ones do you prefer and why?  Also, any comments about Marina’s or dealers that give great service would be appreciated … always good to know who takes care of their customers …
