Based out of Diamond Key Lodge, located in the 30,000 Islands in the Georgian bay, Ontario, Canada. We welcome you to our forum. It is all just for fun and aimed at sharing our knowledge of nature, fishing and kayaking. We are true lovers of nature and the outdoors – with a respect for conservation and the environment. While we are starting the forum, it is for all to share.
Georgian Bay really is one of the most beautiful places in the world. While it is very well mapped, and the group of seven paintings are famous, it also still has a true feeling of remoteness – a place where the natural environment still dominates. Part of this is due to the protection of the bio-sphere and French River Provincial Park System, but part of it is just the sheer make-up of rock and pine trees. Truthfully, the beauty is hard to describe. We do have a photo gallery at http://www.diamondkeylodge.smugmug.com, and of course, we would be grateful to those that post here.
This part of the Georgian Bay is famous for fishing. So, we will discuss hints and tips on catching Northern Pike, Walleye, Muskie and Large and Smallmouth Bass. We are also opening up discussion on lures, boats, fishing hot spots and seasons. Of course, conservation is important, so we will post useful information on slot limits and catch & release discussions.
The Key River, French River and Pickerel River Delta area is also a great spot for Kayaking. Located within miles of the famous Bustard Islands, Kayakers come from far to paddle the thousands of islands and explore the area. Again, we hope that folks will contribute with knowledge of good day routes, stories and photos.
While we operate a fishing Lodge, http://www.diamondkeylodge.com, the real goal of this information is to share knowledge and experiences about fishing, kayaking and nature.
This forum is open to any/all fishermen/kayakers/canoers/camp owners – and lovers of the Outdoors.
