Hello, hope the weather’s great up there. I am badly in need of some advice on Where to fish, What to use, How deep the fish are. Last year we rented a place on Shebeshekong Bay just east of Dillon’s Pt. & Franklin Isl. We are renting there again this Sept. Although we did catch a few smallmouths, the fishing was tough, very few hits. We fished the Shebeshekong Channel area, including out by Fairhead & Oak Islands. We want to connect with some bass again, but as well, I was hoping to get into the Walleye & Trout (salmon?) that I could not find last year. We live in Ont. & do a fair bit of fishing all over but this place stumped us. Can you help, please? I hope you’re familiar with this area?? Thank you……………Larry

Larry,

Sorry for not getting back to you soon – don’t check the posts as frequently as we should. If you want to look at our website http://www.diamondkeylodge.com you will see that we have quite a bit of information … of course the best is to come and join us. We catch the vast majority of the fish in 10 feet or less, in well known weed beds (emerging in the spring), fish around them in the summer months. Bass hit like crazy out of season as they are protecting their nests, so are all returned. They are still around in August, but harded to find. As the water cools in September, they all become more active again … and we get some of our biggest Pike and Muskie at this time of year. Hope this helps, any other specific questions, please email to info@diamondkeylodge.com and we will be sure to get back to you.
