Tell us about your history and experiences at the Key River and our area of the Georgian bay? Pictures, stories, folklore, it is all welcome …
The Key River is about 45 minutes North of Parry Sound, in Ontario, Canada. This is about 3 1/2 hours from Toronto. Specifically, it is North of Britt, but South of the Pickerel, French and Nippissing area. We start right at the highway, and then take a great boat ride down the historic Key; which is a wonderful, beautiful and protected ride. One will see tall rock cliffs, weed beds and bays.
Once we get to the Georgian Bay, the Key River widens and then we arrive at the 30,000 islands, which are basically rocks and pines. This is the area and geography that has been the inspiration for Kayakers, fishermen and artists. The groups of seven come to mind?
It is really hard to describe, but we hope that you will post some pictures of your Georgian Bay adventures, whether they started at the Key, or elsewhere.
